Go Cheese World Tour

Hey honey bunnies!

Recently I offered to join a team to visit the go cheese factory on a weekend and had to say no due the work load I had back in office(I know right?). I was very disappointed as I love anything related to factories, field trips and when I knew it is a cheese factory I literally cried I that I could not make it.Fortunately for me! It was a bad weather day and they had to postpone the trip.. YASS!!

They called us again and I was like, Hell yes I am in this time! The bad weather the other day was very much on my side and so I could make it the following week. I also asked Frank if he could join me there. He said yes! PERFECT!

Finally the day arrived; I met Frank and the other tourist at Dadar which was one of the meeting points. We had an air conditioned bus arranged for a comfortable road trip. After several head counts and after sipping on some chai the journey began!!! It felt like a school field trip just like the old times.

Yes, I was pretty enthusiastic about the whole trip, but the long bus travelling had to put me to sleep. I fell asleep in no time as I had gotten up early that morning.Oh! I almost forgot now that it's all gone down my tummy.. We had a yummy breakfast arranged for us in little bags. I had all of it and yes there were Gowardhan products, this too was one of the reasons I fell asleep during the road trip.

Finally, we reached the venue after a good 3-4 hours journey-Manchar a small town located in the district of Pune. A Yellow and white structure awaited our presence amongst the greenery surrounding it ' The Gowardhan Factory' which belongs to Parag Milk PVT LTD. We were greeted in the cutest tradition and never experienced way. There were two men playing the tabla and one man at the entrance greeting us with the royal Shringa. I felt so special when we were marked with the tikka and put on bead necklace when we entered the premises. And then we were made to sit on a chair and they wrapped around a Pheta around our heads for a picture! Isn't that so awesome? I really was taken aback with the smallest of details and efforts they put into making us feel nice and I also felt highly honoured to be there.

Then there was a young Man who knew a lot about Gowardhan, he took us through some stats which really surprised me how India is the largest milk producer but does not count in the top 20 list of milk product producers like cheese, flavoured milk, etc. There were a lot of other facts and stats he presented over a PPT which were really interesting to know. I feel educated!

Finally the time came to visit the cattle farm. I was very excited to be there, WHITE AND BLACK they were all lined up very disciplined and clam they stood and took their turns to give their love, in the form of MILK of course. I have never seen so many animals together living in perfect harmony and so disciplined because I have only been to a zoo. They were Holstein Friesian breed of Cows a breed originally from Netherlands/Germany known for the best quality of Dairy. We also tasted the milk right after the milking process. Hmm... well, I am not into Milk so I was like -maybe I must not drink this!, but I did it for the experience and let me tell you it was not bad. The best part of the field trip at the cattle farm was that they let us meet the young cattle. I was very happy to play with them for the very less time they let us spend with calf's right from 2 days old to 20 days old.

Then we headed to bread for lunch. I was anyways stuffed with the breakfast I had while on my way to this factory so I did not eat much. But all I know the food was yummy. Actually, I was more excited forwhat was up next, the Go cheese World!! Soon after lunch we walked to the cheese factory, OMG its place was enormous! We were firstly made to wear lab coats and made to remove all jewellery and accessories like watches other basically anything which can fall into the products. Soon after which we saw how the whole process of making cheese is all computerized and the entire process can be done without any human intervention after it has been staring. Only the packing part of the production involves human involvement in the entire process. I was very happy how the milk like forces to be cuddled and then how it is refined and aged and basically how the final product is manufactured. We toured through almost all the departments and I was pretty overwhelmed about each and every machinery and human efforts are put together to bring make our living cheesy!! After which we got to taste and see all of their products which are produced by Gowardhan. If it weren't for that heavy breakfast I had in the morning I would have gotten to try all of the variants, however, I just could not taste all as I was too stuffed with food.

I was very happy to be a part of this tour and I would love to Thank Gowardhan let me learn and tour the GO CHEESE WORLD and also take back some yummy chessilious goodies.

Here are some of the pictures taken at the event.
