MICHELLES ATELIER: 5 things to do at CANDIES

Hey Foodies,

This is my first post.. and I have introduced a new page to THIS blog which is 'FOOD AND BEVERAGE' !! here I am taking over Michelle's blog and we have decided that I am going to be the OFFICIAL CO-AUTHOR to this blog.. also DO STOP BY the CONTACT page!!

FOR TODAY I HAVE DECIDED TO SHARE 5 "MUST DO" THINGS (which probably you do already) AT MY FAVORITE PLACE TO BE ON A LAZY SUNDAY WITH MY GIRLFRIEND... "CANDIES"

1) BE ON TIME!
If it's the food you are here for, at Candies you definitely need to be there on time..the stuff just sweeps off by the second.. the food looks great and tastes even better..
Soo...are you are new in Mumbai?? do you wanna treat your friends and not burn a hole in you pocket?? are you looking out for a cozy place you take your girl/guy on a date?? then this is a perfect place! but be there earlier than the usual food hours and you get to eat what you want!! SO GOOD TIMING IS EVERYTHING!

PSST: Michelle and I went for our first not so date "date" to Candies and she was the one who recommended this place and it had to be good...and let me tell you its our FAVORITE place especially when we are on a tight budget..

2) DON'T MISS THE SALAD BAR
If you are green "ghaas puss" friendly like my girlie...SALAD BAR IS THE BEST!!
you cannot go to candies and not stop by the yummy salads awaiting for you.. WELL DEFINITELY not like the diet friendly or boring as SALAD'S sound.. this is LOVE.. IT'S LIKE CHEATING IN THE NAME OF SALAD.. this bar has an array of salads like Mexican, Thai, Russian...yummmm...with croutons and lovely sauce dressings...besides the veggie salads..there is also fish,chicken, eggs..many options to choose from.. also this is a self served buffet (you can stuff the plate only once) so do your best!

OH VERY IMPORTANT POINT.. best way to have it is ask for the take away container instead of a plate and mountain the salads and later share it among the hungry fellas..ssshhh this is the best kinda advise.. also if your full half way, get the container taped and parcel it home :P THANK ME LATER!!>>>salad bar PRICED @ Rs140/- + minimal taxes..

3) FIND A COZY SPOT
You definitely need stamina and some great eye site to pick the right spot.. this place is usually a college kid's ADDA so you need to be faster than those suckers :p!...this place is very big.. its close to walking up a mini hill.. make sure to always pick a spot close to the electrical plug point so you can call for some help to get a fan just next to your seat especially on a summer day( YOU DO NOT WANT TO MELT DOWN)
The ambiance is a HIT, lovely interiors, a ton of open spaces, you can smoke in the smoking zones(they care),great decor.. HIPPIES CAN LIVE HERE FOREVER..
If your on a date pick the spots which are in the dark a/c rooms in the corners :P No, REALLY I DON'T DO THAT!!

4) CLICK PICTURES
And how can one end the day when you have a girlfriend who is also a NARCISSIST(this is not a bad word). She loves graffiti and her camera also herself..she goes click, click, click all he time.. but I have also seen a ton of kids doing the same..MICHELLE says coming to candies and not clicking pictures is a SIN, so lets just follow that.. who does not want a cool background and yummy food up the social websites for some likes and comments??

5) END IT ON A SWEET NOTE!
As much as I LOVE THE SAVORY stuff here.. leaving the place without trying the desserts is disrespectful.. I love how they have a miniature for every yummy full size desert, especially If you are one to get overfull after a yummy meal here..you can always pop a mini jello or a tiny cupcake at the end...absolutely pocket friendly prices!!
